Brief summary

To review oral food challenges in children with Food Protein Enterocolitis Syndrome (FPIES) over a 10 year period (2010 to 2020) at the Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN) and Flinders Medical Centre (FMC) in Adelaide, Australia. We will review safety and clinical outcomes and how practices have changed over this period.

Interventions

Children from birth to 18 years of age inclusive, who undergo food challenge between 2010-2020 to exclude Food protein enterocolitis syndrome were included in the audit. We reviewed their clinical history from medical notes including past reaction symptoms and trigger foods. We then collected challenge information including food, demographics and outcomes. We summarised this data to reflect on changes in practice and inform future directions.

All patients 0-18yo who underwent oral food challenge for food protein enterocolitis syndrome between 2010-2020 at Women's and Children's Health Network and Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide Australia.
