Brief summary

This study is a randomized controlled trial in diabetes patients comparing mindful self-compassion training with a wait list control.

Interventions

An eight-week intervention using a mindful self-compassion intervention in which participants will attend a total of eight sessions, two and a quarter hours in duration, conducted once a week. The sessions will be administered in a group setting by a psychologist trained to deliver this intervention

Inclusion criteria

Patients with a diagnosis of Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus over the age of 18. Participants must also be English-speaking

Exclusion criteria

Non-english speaking Under 18
