Brief summary

This is a prospective observational study in all adults seen in Auckland City Hospital for outpatient coronary angiogram. This is a prospective observational study in all adults seen in ward 38 for coronary angiogram. Procedure 1. Informed consent will not be obtained as this is a low risk procedure and is often part of normal clinical practice. 2. A blood test for HbA1c and eGFR will be obtained on all patients prior to angiogram 3. General practitioners or usual care physicians will be informed if a patient is newly diagnosed as having diabetes.

Interventions

Prospective cross-sectional observational study. Consecutive patients presenting for outpatient angiograms will have a single blood test on the day of the angiogram.
