Brief summary
The aim of this study is to determine if an experiential cooking intervention can improve cooking skills, dietary behaviors, and social engagement of young people attending alternative education settings.
Interventions
Young people (ages 13-16) attending alternative education schools will receive a 2 hour cooking session, weekly over a school term (10 weeks). Sessions are administered as a group and coordinated by culinary tutors. During the cooking sessions, students participate in the preparation of a healthy meal. Participants share the meal communally once prepared.
