Brief summary
Pain management after cardiac surgery is very important. Pain locations are at the sternum and drainage catheter insertion sites.This study was designed to analyze effect of lidocaine jelly application to chest tubes on pain intensity and duration.

Inclusion criteria
patients undergoing cardiac surgery
Exclusion criteria
emergency surgery, perioperative intra aortic balloon pump, extracorporeal membrane oxygenator, reoperation for bleeding, additional postoperative drainage catheter insertion, postoperative cognitive dysfunction history of severe underlying renal or hepatic disease, or allergy to local anaesthetics
