Brief summary
This study explores depression and the working alliance between client and therapist at the end of a cognitive-behavioral intervention for depression. The participants were randomized to an internet-based treatment group or face-to-face group. Both groups received the same cognitive behavioral therapy over an eight-week timeframe, at the end of which participants completed the Beck Depression Inventory and the Working Alliance Inventory.

Score greater than or equal to 12 on the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI)
Exclusion criteria
current substance abuse or dependence psychotic symptoms high risk of suicide currently receiving treatment illiterate in German
