Inclusion criteria

First-ever monohemispheric subcortical stroke at least 3 months prior to enrolment; Upper limb weakness.

Exclusion criteria

Contraindications to transcranial magnetic stimulation and/or magnetic resonance imaging; Unable to walk unassisted; Unable to give informed consent.
