Inclusion criteria

Histologically or cytologically confirmed invasive breast cancer.

Exclusion criteria

In situ cancer only. Clinically involved nodes where axillary surgery is deemed essential. Multicentric tumours. Primary tumour >3cm in diameter. Evidence of metastatic disease.
